In the north of Munich

First mentioned in documents between 948 and 957, the district of Freimann is significantly older than Munich. The incorporation to Munich took place only in 1931. Together with the eastern part of Schwabing, Freimann forms the northernmost district of Munich, which is characterized by its old village center around today's St. Nicholas Church on Heinrich-Groh-Strasse and several extensive single-family housing estates from the post-war period. The combination of old cultural land, the oldest chapels and churches in Munich, the Großlappen estate, the Allianz Arena, trade fairs, media, but also allotment gardens, shopping centers, culture and celebrities in the vicinity of Maiglöckchenstraße, Mohrvilla and Metropoltheater make the district a sought-after residential area. At the beginning of the 1930s, the Blütenring housing estate was built, in which our building project is located and which was named after the abundance of flowers in the park area there. The Blütenring is bordered by the northern end of the Hirschau, the Obere Isarau, which is the northern continuation of the English Garden and, in contrast to the English Garden, still has the original character of a quiet city forest. A popular destination is the traditional restaurant Aumeister with its adjoining beer garden. Freimann has good traffic connections. In the south, the Mittlerer Ring runs from west to east, the B11 federal highway crosses the eastern part of Freimann as Ungererstrasse, Situlistrasse and, at the level of Heidemannstrasse, as Freisinger Landstrasse in a north-south direction. The A9 freeway towards Berlin runs parallel to the B11 and provides access to Freimann via the Munich - Frankfurter Ring, Munich - Freimann and Munich - Fröttmaning - Süd junctions. The district is connected to the public transportation network by subway line 6 with several stations.
