The center of Altperlach is located around the historic town center on Pfanzeltplatz. With the old farmhouses and the baroque church of St. Michael on the east side, the village of Perlach is still visible. The historical events of the district can be read on the front of the history fountain. Everyday facilities are located around the square: banks, schools, the post office, the weekly market, shops and restaurants. The traditional maypole is just as much a part of this as the Bavarian village festivals. Also the one running along here Hachinger Bach gives the square a special atmosphere. Magnificent chestnuts line its course on both sides and deliberately underline the village character.
